Opening Grondstoffenstation

Great start to the new year: the official opening of the Grondstoffenstation at the Afrikaandermarkt! On the 10th of January, during the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Afrikaanderwijk Cooperative, the Grondstoffenstation will be officially opened. The opening event will take place from 16:00 to 17:00, with Vincent Karremans.
At the Grondstoffenstation, all residual streams from the Afrikaander market come together and are separated there as best as possible, enabling reuse and recycling. On the outside, it is mainly a place for the neighbourhood: school gardens on the roof, water collection for he adjacent Tuin van de Wijk, a grandstand facing the Cruyff court and a counter where food banks and individuals can collect edible leftovers from the market free of charge.
As you can expect from us, almost all building materials have been harvested from residual streams from construction and industry and assembled in such a way that they can be reused in the future. During the opening, we will tell you more about the design.
