Together with the client, Superuse formulated the following objectives:

_ A distinctive building that matches the identity of Q-dance;

_ Optimal use of the qualities of the location, the existing buildings and the materials;

_ A minimal ecological footprint and a positive impact on the user experience and the environment.

Before the start of the design phase, we conducted extensive research into a suitable location and the wishes and requirements of the client. The brief study consists of a document of departure points, a quantitative brief and a location plan. The study was based on, among other things, site visits to various old office locations and the warehouse, interviews, a survey and workshops.

Q-dance is a Dutch organizer of dance events.

After the preliminary research, the management of Q-dance chose Nachtlab in Amsterdam as their new accommodation. Nachtlab is a building with office, studio and production spaces for entrepreneurs in the field of electronic music.

The client wanted the company’s creativity to be visible in the new interior.

Other wishes were an open structure with concentration work units, the possibility of daylight, but also blackout facilities and the use of light colours and natural materials.
